Information:
The BMSTU strategy is aimed at improving international education quality, increasing academic mobility, and international academic recognition.
Since 1991 BMSTU has started teaching international students, post-graduates and trainees, increasing their number from 3 to 200, respectively, by 1998. They are offered to pursue degrees such as Dipl.Eng (6years), B.Sc. (4years), M.Sc. (2years), Ph.D. (3years), traineeship (from 1month to 1year) and pre-university training (10months). Actually, teaching is provided in Russian though there some courses taught in English or French. On the other hand, about 100 students and post-graduates of BMSTU annually go abroad to study at the universities or to have a practical training at the enterprises. Essentially, this domain is mainly supported from the national exchange programmes such as DAAD, COPERNIK as well as from the scholarships provided from international universities and companies, President of the RF, Government, etc.
In October 1997 BMSTU, the only higher education institution of NIS, joined the TIME Network to become its Asscociate member in September 1998. This event contributes to developing student exchanges and is just in line with the strategic plan of BMSTU development
According to a charter, 33 engineering institutions of Europe agreed, through bilateral agreements, to exchange carefully-selected students who are expected to obtain two engineering degrees, both at home institution and at the institution abroad.
The Academic Council of BMSTU has given a proper appreciation of efforts of the Office for International Relations to foster development of cooperation within the framework of TIME PROGRAMME.
The TIME PROGRAMME "Top Industrial Managers for Europe" was launched in 1988 by Ecole Centrale Paris that has also taken the initiative of creating the TIME network of top-level engineering institutions. Common objective of these institutions is to enable the students to spend two years on a degree course abroad, following a curriculum accredited by the academic authorities of both establishments.
To strengthen a bicultural nature of degree course the students are offered to study subjects which are a reputed speciality of each establishment
